Coronavirus Update 17th March 2020
I am writing to provide you with the latest update on the Coronavirus situation at Belmont. We are doing our best to ensure that everyone in school remains well and that the school can continue to function and that children continue to learn despite the current challenges we are all facing.
While government guidance remains that schools should stay open, the latest guidance is that if your child has a new continuous cough or a high temperature (at or above 37.8°), the whole household needs to self-isolate for 14 days. They must not return to school unless they have been at home for a full 14 days as we do not want them to pose a risk to the rest of the community.
If your child becomes ill in school with a continuous cough or high temperature, they will be sent home.
Some parents/carers may wish to take precautionary measures that go beyond the current guidance. Ultimately it is your decision what you decide to do and the school cannot make that decision for you. We will not be challenging absence at this time but please keep us informed by calling the school if your child is not coming to school.
As school remains open and the advice is only to keep children who are unwell away from school, we will not be providing work for pupils who are absent from school at this time.
I will provide further updates as I receive them.
Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time.
