Coronavirus Update 19th March 2020
I am writing to provide further information about the closure of the school due to Covid-19. You will all know that we have now been instructed to close the school to almost all children after this Friday until further notice.
As advised by the government, we will do all that we can to stay open for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police, others in frontline services) and for children with certain needs. We are contacting families of children who we already know fall into these categories.
If you are a key worker in a single parent household or if both parents are key workers and you require a school place, please let the school know by 10am Friday 20th . When we receive further information about eligibility, we will let you know whether you have been allocated a place.
You will need to provide the following information before that decision can be made:
- Child’s name:
- Year group:
- Parent 1 employment details:
- Parent 2 employment details:
- Days childcare needed:
Please note that you may be asked to provide proof of your employment.
All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into school from Monday onwards.
If your child usually receives free school meals, Pabulum have told us they will continue to provide this. Parents will need to come in to the school with their children. Please inform the office whether you will require a free school meal.
While your child is at home we will continue to send work for your children to do through Google classroom. Your children should know how to access Google Classroom but I will send a detailed guide about how to access this later. I will provide more information about remote learning tomorrow.
All trips including the Y6 residential to Aberdovey are obviously cancelled.
Pendarren is closed until May 4th and we will let you know whether the visit will be cancelled as soon as we know.
This is as much as we know right now and we appreciate your continued patience with as we deal with this ever-changing situation. We’ll continue to keep in touch with any updates as the situation develops.
And remember: if you or your child feels ill and you want to know what to do next, please use NHS 111 online.
Thank you again for your continued support, and we will be in touch with more information when we have it.
